Not a Data Geek

It is overstating my skills to call me a data geek.  

Exhibit A: The tech and data person, brittany bennett. She is the Chief Technology Officer and National Data Director at the Working Families Party and you can check out this thoughtful blog entry for some of her mind-blowing brilliance: There's a better way: The case for dbt for progressive data professionals (August 2023). 

I'm not a programmer. I am an accidental tech and data person. 

I am familiar with certain tech and help progressive political organizations make the most of what is available. 

• I fix things: your copy machine, your toilet, your database. 

• I sit at a laptop to standardize and merge those three different data sets and then match them to the voter file.

• I stand up at leadership meeting to propose a project with clear design and data-driven goals. 

• I cheer on a group of volunteers after training them to making calls to voters.

Those kinds of things.
